Skatebury V2 has arrived!
Since the initial release of Skatebury V1, I quickly realized how much better it could have been. For the past few months I've been working on learning, tweaking, and adding to Skatebury to make it feel more full. I've added some more local spots (including a spot from North Bay, Ontario), added our fs teams (Hoax.fs) skate warehouse and more.
I hope you enjoy V2!
I bring to you “Skatebury V1”
I’ve been working on this map on and off for a year now. It all started out when I decided I wanted to learn how to create my local park. The second I built that first box and skated it in Skater XL, I became addicted to learning how to use Blender/Unity. Wasn’t 100% what the game plan was but I just kept learning, building, and adding until it was what it is now. It’s not perfect by any means but I’m also not done with it. The next big step for me is to step up my texturing game and to continue to learn more in all aspects. I’ll be taking a break for a while from the map as its been taking up a lot of my time but a big thing I want to get done is adding waxed curbs. I also wanted to apologize for the transition in the map - something I’ll need to work more on. Can’t wait to actually play the game and start making edits again.
Skatebury is based on my hometown, Sudbury, Ontario. Many of the spots are based on real spots we have and/or had here in the city. The indoor park is based on our old indoor skatepark that we had growing up that we no longer have, unfortunately, so its great to be able to skate it virtually. I’ve also added a few spots that I’ve enjoyed from road trips to Toronto. One of the more fun parts was being able to get creative and make up a couple spots to fill up empty areas. Also, all the murals in the map are from around here as well.
Huge thanks to:
Hope you enjoy!
